Who can take your classes?
The center has an extensive training contract with the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Most of our courses are limited to managers, supervisors and children’s services workers employed by DCFS.
Can you teach classes for a different audience?
Yes, the center has developed training for regional centers, as well as cross-system training involving DCFS and other public agencies, such as the Department of Mental Health.
Can the center develop a course for my organization?
Yes, please contact Donna Toulmin, the center’s director of training, for further information.
Where do you conduct your training?
Most of our training is conducted in one of two state-of–the-art training rooms in the center located southwest of the intersection between the Santa Monica (10) Freeway and the Harbor (110) Freeway. The peach/gray two-story building is on the south side of Washington Boulevard between Oak and Norwood Streets. Occasionally, we conduct training at other sites throughout Los Angeles County.
Where do I park?
Adjacent parking at the center is limited to 20 spaces; we also have 50 additional spaces in an overflow lot located on Oak Street. Early arrival is recommended.
Can you accommodate late arrivals?
Please call 213.743.2429 if you’re running late. Depending on the class, we may or may not be able to accommodate late arrivals.
Who can answer questions about class credit or attendance certificates?
Please contact Cheryl Jackson at 213.743.4393.
