An integral part of the curriculum, field education exposes you to the broad field of social work and the diversity of populations and treatment issues. We employ community agencies as learning laboratories, enabling you to put to use what you learn in the classroom in a professional setting. Through these internships, you are encouraged to explore your commitment to social work values and ethics. You may even discover new career possibilities. By the time you complete your degree, you will have 1,050 hours of hands-on training.
More than 400 social-service agencies, government entities, schools, hospitals and businesses throughout Southern California participate in our field-internship program. Your academic advisor and a field instructor will provide guidance and mentoring.
