GLOBAL MASTER OF SOCIAL WORK
A Global Perspective
The USC Global Master of Social Work (GMSW) degree in community, corporate and organizational development prepares students for new leadership roles in human services and evolving areas such as corporate social responsibility, social enterprise and globalization of non-profit organizations. Students graduate with an in-depth understanding of leadership management and revenue development, and a greater capacity for managing innovation, creating policy and improving outcomes for human programs. Plus, our graduates join an invaluable worldwide network of support through the legendary Trojan Family.
The first year of the program begins at National Taiwan University in Taipei via distance learning followed by a second year in Los Angeles, encouraging true cross-cultural learning. The core GMSW curriculum provides a common base of knowledge, skills and values by introducing theories, issues and practice methods that deal with individuals and their environment. The second half of the program offers advanced training in corporate, community and organizational development. Faculty from USC and National Taiwan University teach the Taipei courses. To earn the GMSW degree, students must complete 63 units and 1,050 field internship hours.
* ONLY LEGAL RESIDENTS OF TAIWAN ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE GMSW PROGRAM.
