The MSW degree requires a minimum of 63 semester units, including field internships (1050 clock hours).

Students must complete the program in two academic years of full-time study or within a maximum four years as a structured part-time program.

The Graduate School requires a grade point average of 3.0 for admission to the School of Social Work and for graduation from the MSW program.

MSW students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.85 or better by the end of the fall semester preceding commencement will be designated a “Dean’s Scholar.”

Prior to commencement, the school displays the Dean's Scholars list, and
scholars are invited to a recognition ceremony. They are also recognized in
the commencement program for their accomplishments.
