Building a 21st Century Asia

While participating in the USC Asia Conference in Seoul, Korea in October 2004, Dean Marilyn Flynn shares her viewpoint in a televised discussion on Arirang TV about issues in education. The School of Social Work took part in the third annual conference that brought together 400 academic, business and government leaders to discuss socio-economic, cultural and technology issues affecting Pacific Rim societies.

Drs. Frances Wu and Iris Chi
 Donor Gifts Recognize Chi, Mor Barak and Stoner; All Full Professors Now Hold Chairs or Professorships

The University of Southern California School of Social Work has named Michàlle E. Mor Barak and Madeleine R. Stoner to two newly endowed professorships and Iris Chi to a previously endowed chair, marking the first time in the School's history that all full professors now hold endowed chairs or professorships.

 Zebrack Joins Lance Armstrong on President's Cancer Panel

While published reports indicate treatments and death rates for cancer are improving, Assistant Professor Brad Zebrack, a cancer survivor himself, wondered if the same could be said of quality of life. His research interest helped land an exclusive invitation to be a speaker on the President's Cancer Panel in San Francisco this past fall, along with Lance Armstrong, six-time winner of the Tour de France.
