  Movin' on Up
The USC School of Social Work is on the move – in more ways than one. Not only did the school break admissions records for the sixth year in a row, it has moved to yet another zip code to accommodate the rapidly growing number of students, faculty and administrative staff.

Nearly 180 MSW students are movin’ on up to a deluxe suite in the sky, where they began attending classes this semester in the school’s new space located in the heart of a revitalized and spruced up downtown Los Angeles. City Center, which is housed in one of two signature towers on Olive and Hill Streets, is the school’s third satellite center, joining the Orange County Center and Skirball Cultural Center. The new downtown digs offer breathtaking city views, a 500-seat auditorium, retail shops, a food court and health club. Next year, it will be home to one of the first social work experiential laboratories in the country.

  Help Starts at The Grove
USC social work alumni including the City of Los Angeles’ Chief Auditor Laura Chick, MSW ’87, and community leaders showed their support for the National Social Work Public Education Campaign, which kicked off in California at The Grove in West Hollywood on August 28. Giant “Help Starts Here” ads adorn shopping center kiosks and the east entrance parking garage. Pictured here are MSW students Andrea LeBeauf Brown and Jenn Shin, with the school’s new Assistant Dean of Alumni Relations and Career Development Carrie Lew (center).
