Studies show it takes up to two decades for mental healthcare practitioners to employ new academic findings to be more effective with clients. One way to speed things up is to educate "new" professionals in the "translational science" of putting lab-tested techniques to work. USC social work students organized a conference as part of an internship at Pacific Clinics, where they have been applying lessons in evidence-based practice.

The USC School of Social Work will offer a new study-abroad opportunity in Israel this summer for students who want to explore a different model of social service in an international setting.
