| PAUL CARLO, founder of the USC Center on Child Welfare in 1991, has been an adjunct associate professor at the USC School of Social Work since 1985. He provides clinical and administrative consultation and training to inpatient and outpatient child treatment centers, child guidance clinics, family service agencies, schools, hospitals and mental health centers.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Carlo was the director of residential treatment at Five Acres Boys and Girls Aid Society of Southern California, 1980-1990; chief of program evaluation, Western Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled, 1978-1980; program director, California Department of Corrections Work Furlough and Community Re-entry Project, 1976-1978; executive director, Juvenile Rehabilitation Service, 1970-1974; and, most recently, hosted "Shrink Wrap," a weekly radio talk show on mental health and psychotherapy issues. Dr. Carlo's teaching, research and publications focus on social work services for children, youth and families. |
