The USC School of Social Work doctoral
program has evolved into one of the leading programs in the United States, as measured by the quality of our students, the generosity of our financial
assistance and our high rate of successful PhD candidates.
The reason for our success is our dedicated faculty, who take pride in close collaboration with students in research and mentoring, as well as teaching. We help all doctoral students develop a portfolio of research and teaching that will prepare them fully for the challenges they face as the next generation of academics and researchers.
Opportunities abound here for the dedicated student. For example, the school’s Hamovitch
Research Center currently receives more than $22 million annually in funded research from the National Institutes of Health and other federal agencies – and our doctoral students regularly collaborate on the resulting projects. Moreover, our doctoral students greatly benefit from the diversity of course offerings in outstanding academic departments throughout the University of Southern California.
The excellence of our program attracts students from many nations, so doctoral candidates also benefit from being a part of a diversity of ethnicities and viewpoints. No matter where you hail from, we offer a supportive and stimulating environment for future leaders in the field of social work.
Thank you for your interest in our school.
Sincerely,

Bruce Jansson, Ph.D.
