Micki Gress, senior clinical fellow in field education and CalSWEC project coordinator, will be giving a presentation on stipends available to students interested in pursuing mental health as a career.
The CalSWEC Mental Health Stipend and IUC/DMH Stipend are designed to encourage students to choose mental health as a career, and to work with one of four groups: adults with mental illness; older adults with mental illness; seriously emotionally disturbed children and their families; and transitional-age youth at risk because of mental illness, substance abuse and high-risk behaviors. Stipend recipients must be in either the Mental Health or COPA concentrations, and for the CalSWEC program, the Families and Children concentration is also permitted. To learn more about the requirements, including those for field placements and course work, visit http://sowkweb.usc.edu/admissions/master-of-social-work/stipends.
A light lunch will be provided.
