JOSEPHINE FAVA HOCHULI serves as clinical assistant professor and director of clinical placements in the Department of Nursing. She is a registered nurse in the state of Maryland.
She began her nursing career in 1983 as a staff nurse. Since then, she has held positions as a nurse recruiter, a member of the National Institute on Drug Abuse Institutional Review Board, a quality and patient safety nurse, and a health effectiveness data information sets nurse. Before joining the faculty at USC, Hochuli served as director of clinical partner relations and placement for Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. In this position, she oversaw the placement and contract process for the school’s pre-licensure and graduate programs.
Hochuli’s passion for improving the quality of nursing education and patient outcomes is evidenced by her involvement as executive board member and convention committee chair in her state nurses association, her current practice in quality management and her clinical education research activities. She was endorsed by the Maryland Nurses Association and selected to participate in the American Nurses Advocacy Institute fellowship program through the American Nurses Association.
