ARACELY GONZALEZ joined the social work adjunct faculty at USC in 2013, where she teaches field education courses at the Virtual Academic Center. She has extensive experience in supervising undergraduate and graduate student interns, both as a field instructor and a field liaison.  

She holds a bachelor's degree as well as a master's degree in social work from California State University, Long Beach.

Gonzalez is a licensed clinical social worker with over 16 years of experience in mental health. She began her career with a community-based mental health agency serving children and families. For the past nine years, she has focused her work on school settings. As a psychiatric social worker for the Los Angeles Unified School District, she provided individual, family and group counseling, as well as crisis intervention and risk assessment. She currently works at headquarters, providing district-wide consultation and support through LAUSD’s Crisis Counseling and Intervention Services.

She is trained in crisis intervention and management; threat assessment and management; suicide assessment, intervention and postvention; cognitive behavioral interventions for trauma in schools; mental health consultation and education; cognitive behavior therapy; motivational interviewing; problem-solving; seeking safety; and clinical supervision.
