JUDI MILLER LEVY is part of the adjunct faculty and teaches graduate students about clinical practice. A licensed clinical social worker and somatic experiencing practitioner, she specializes in the treatment of trauma and has served as a clinician, program coordinator and supervisor within school and agency settings.
Her clinical approach draws on current neuroscientific research, which acknowledges that overwhelming experiences get stuck in people’s minds, bodies and spirits. These old experiences influence emotions, behaviors, physical health and relationship styles despite people’s best efforts to move past them. She currently maintains a private practice and works with individuals, families and groups to uncover and shift out of these stuck places. She also provides trainings and workshops regarding the prevention of vicarious traumatization through somatic resilience.
