Fall 2024 On-Campus MSW Application FINAL Deadline: July 16, 2024

New iPad App Makes Faculty and Staff Contact Information Easily Accessible

Contact information for all USC School of Social Work faculty, staff and Student Organization members can now be accessed with the touch of a screen through the new School of Social Work Directory iPad application.

The app offers various search options, including filtering by name, location, department or faculty rank, and it provides instant access to names, portraits, titles, campus locations, and phone and email contact information.

Designed to complement and expand the accessibility and functionality of the interactive directory in the Montgomery Ross Fisher building on the University Park Campus, the app brings school contact information directly to anyone with an iPad and a Wi-Fi connection.

“We wanted to create a way to make faculty, staff and student leader information more accessible in an easy-to-navigate, user-friendly way,” said Andrew Taylor, the school’s webmaster. “Not only does this app accomplish that, but it really complements the robust virtual environment the school has built to support its Master of Social Work Web-based degree program.”

The school expanded its online presence three years ago with the launch of the Virtual Academic Center, an online portal that offers students from around the country an opportunity to earn an MSW degree from USC. The MSW@USC utilizes the latest technology to link students with their peers and professors through live classes, study groups and chat sessions, while offering a curriculum that mirrors the academic rigor of the on-campus program. Last year, the MSW@USC released a mobile app that allows students to access multi-media course content and intra-school social networks from smartphones and tablets.

The School of Social Work Directory app is currently available only for iPad and can be downloaded for free from the Apple iTunes store.
